Scandal Shocker! Jake Ballard Stabbed -- Is Olivia Pope's Love Dead? Read the Recap

This is not a drill: Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) ended the April 16 episode of Scandal by getting stabbed in the stomach — and that's just one of the shocking highlights (make that lowlights) from a seriously action-packed evening. Check out Us Weekly's countdown of the biggest moments!

1. Stop Everything: Jake Ballard Might Be Dead

Remember Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington ) new boyfriend, Russell (Brian White)? Yeah, well, he ended up creeping into Olivia's office and stabbing an unsuspecting Jake in the stomach during the final moments of Scandal. Turns out Russell's a traitor who's been working for Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) this whole time, which means that he's officially in our Burn Book. RIP Jake...maybe?

2. Huck and Quinn Got Their Creep On

Ain't no party like a crime scene party! Huck (Guillermo Díaz) and Quinn (Katie Lowes) got to do what they do best this week: dispose of a dead body — and not just any corpse. This particular stiff happened to be the mayor's wife, who was violently stabbed to death (much like Jake, sob!). Naturally, Huck and Quinn had a blast cleaning up her trail of blood #BecauseScandal.

3. Jake Threw President Fitz Under The Bus

Before he was stabbed in the stomach, Jake testified to David Rosen (Joshua Malina) about B613. In the spirit of keeping things honest, he decided to dish on Fitz's (Tony Goldwyn) involvement in shooting down a civilian airliner — so yeah, we're thinking his presidency is about to go up in flames.

4. Olivia Got Her Sexy On

Unfortunately, Olivia had sex with Russell right before he murdered Jake — but hey, at least it was steamy. Russell tried to resist Olivia for a hot second, but it wasn't long before that hot second became a hot seven minutes in heaven. You're gonna want to grab some sliced cucumbers in the event that your eyes start burning.

5. Papa Don't Preach

We're having a major moment with Papa Pope! Sure, he put a hit out on Jake, but he also told Olivia that he's proud of her for taking a stand -- even if it's against him. Minus the whole "I'm about to murder your ex-boyfriend" thing, this totally counts as a bonding moment, right?

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
