Team Chris it is! Us Weekly can confirm that Chris Soules will be the next Bachelor, after Arie Luyendyk Jr. said he was out of the running on Monday, Aug. 25.
"I'm not the Bachelor," Luyendyk tweeted. "Have fun on the farm people."

Soules, an Iowa farmer, was a Bachelorette fan favorite during Andi Dorfman's recently concluded season. Dorfman sobbed as she sent Soules home before the fantasy suite night.

"I think it's a big deal to take someone in an overnight, whether or not you do anything," Andi told Us Weekly last month at the taping of The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All. "Just the act of, like, spending the night with someone should mean something, and I think you should feel like you have a future with somebody if you're willing to spend the night with them. And as soon as I realized that there wasn't that future with Chris, I think that was the appropriate time to go." (Dorfman ended up choosing another frontrunner, Josh Murray .)

Though Soules was not favored by Dorfman during season 10 of the smash series, fans chanted his name during the live Bachelorette finale when Chris Harrison was asked about the next Bachelor.
His opponent Luyendyk, 32, was runner-up on Emily Maynard's Bachelorette season back in 2012. "He already had his packages shot and they even got him a trainer so he could buff up and be camera ready with his shirt off," an insider told Us of Luyendyk being considered for the next Bachelor slot.

Despite losing to Soules, the hottie thanked his fans for their "kind words" and support. "It wasn't meant to be, and I'm okay with it," Luyendyk tweeted. "Happy I can move forward."
