1. Tina Fey on Ms. Norbury
Background: The 30 Rock standout played the character of Ms. Norbury, who was accused of peddling drugs after a vicious rumor was started by The Plastics. "I revisited high school behaviors of my own—futile, poisonous, bitter behaviors that served no purpose," Fey told the Times. "That thing of someone saying 'You’re really pretty' and then, when the other person thanks them, saying, 'Oh, so you agree? You think you’re pretty?' That happened in my school. That was a bear trap," the Philly-area native recalled.
On the movie's successes, Fey—who wrote the screenplay of the 2004 hit—joked, "I think we mostly have TBS to thank. It's always on TBS." She also shared that Mean Girls is currently in the process of being turned into a musical. "I wish so badly we could have had it done in some form for the 10th anniversary," she said, "but hopefully before the 15th."
Best Quote: "Oh, hi. Did you wanna buy some drugs?"

2. Rachel McAdams on Regina George
Background: McAdams was a little-known actress back in 2004 on the brink of superstardom. In the movie, she played the beautiful, evil leader of The Plastics, Regina George. "At the heart of Regina George was a really angry kid who had no boundaries or guidance," she told the Times of her character. To channel her character, "[Director Mark Waters] told me to listen to Courtney Love really loud, and to watch Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross."
On the movie's success, the Notebook star, 35, called it "surprising,” and elaborated: "When you're making something, you kind of have no concept of it. But this was the script that made me call my manager halfway through and say, 'I will play any part in this.' Tina hit a nerve about girl politics, but in a nonconfrontational way." The star added that she gets asked to quote the movie by fans, worldwide. "I recently stayed at a bed-and-breakfast in Europe, and the owner's young granddaughter asked me to write down a few lines from the movie at breakfast. I was like a deer in headlights. I couldn't remember any. And she proceeded to give me 12 direct quotes."
Best Quote: "Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen! It's not going to happen!"
3. Lacey Chabert on Gretchen Wieners
Background: Chabert played Gretchen Wieners, the incredibly ditzy heiress of Toaster Strudel and right-hand woman to Regina George, in the film. "I was never the cool kid," Chabert told the Times. "I wore Minnie Mouse stuff. And growing up in Hollywood, I always felt under a microscope."
Chabert said of her character's most quotable moment: "Probably about a hundred times a day, people will write the 'fetch' line to me on Twitter."
Best Quote: "That is so fetch!"

4. Lizzy Caplan on Janis Ian
Background: Caplan played anti-Plastic Janis Ian in the movie—an outspoken goth whose best friend is Damian. "I think all girls that age are looking for their 'thing.' I was fairly angsty in high school," Caplan told the Times. "I had my hair dyed black and was into Charles Bukowski… Honestly, I had zero idea that people wouldn't find my look in that movie very cool and kinda sexy."
Caplan, who now plays Virginia Johnson on Masters of Sex, added that her present-day colleagues are very much into the movie. "I've had quite a few crew members on later gigs bring in DVDs for me to sign for their daughters, who must have been, like, toddlers when we shot the film," she said.
Best Quote: "You're plastic. Cold, shiny, hard PLASTIC."
5. Daniel Franzese on Damian
Background: Franzese tackled the role of big, lovable and gay BFF of Janis, who welcomed Lohan's character Cady Heron with open arms when she first arrived at school. "All of a sudden there were 14-year-old girls following me in their uniforms," he recalled of fame while living on the Upper East Side back in 2004. "I grew a beard, and I would do that thing like in the movies—wait until a bus came by, then run with the bus."
Best Quote: "Four for you. You go Glen Coco! ...And none for Gretchen Wieners."
