Ready to air-kiss and make up? Seven years after her fiery exit from the show, Rosie O'Donnell will be returning to The View -- but only as a guest.
ABC News announced on Monday, Jan. 27 that the 51-year-old comedian, who currently guest-stars on ABC Family's The Fosters, will appear on the ABC talk show as a guest on Feb. 7.
O'Donnell served as moderator on The View from 2006 to 2007, before breaking her contract early. Her controversial tenure included a public falling-out with conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck following many public disputes over politics. O'Donnell was also reportedly at odds with The View creator Barbara Walters , who she claimed fired her. "And I would be less-than-honest if I were to say that there is no trouble between Barbara and I," O'Donnell wrote in her 2007 memoir Celebrity Detox. "I mean, our differences are obvious."
But the two seem to be on good terms now, and Walters said she is ready to welcome O'Donnell back to The View with open arms.
"I have great affection for Rosie and we have remained in contact through the years," Walter said in a statement to ABC News. "I am happy to welcome her back to the program. She is always a lively and engaging guest and a part of the show's successful history."
Though O'Donnell may be reuniting with Walters, she won't have to come face-to-face with Hasselbeck. The 36-year-old talk show host left The View in July 2013, and now appears on Fox & Friends. After leaving The View, O'Donnell debuted her own shown, The Rosie Show, on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network in October 2011. The talk show was short-lived, however, and was canceled in March 2012.
