Sharon Osbourne Apologizes on The Talk for Bashing The View: "I'm Really Just a Loose Cannon"

Sharon Osbourne is going back on her word -- but for a good reason. After making headlines for telling the women of The View to go "f--k themselves" during a recent appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show, the Talk co-host is attempting to make nice by apologizing for her "irreverent" remarks.

"I have to own this. I'm fully responsible for myself -- some of the time. And unfortunately, I was inappropriate, and I was trying to be funny at someone else's expense," she said on Thursday, Nov. 7. "It was the ladies of The Talk. We were asked a question about The Talk."

"The View, you mean?" co-host Sara Gilbert interrupted her.

"See?! I'm not well!" Kelly Osbourne 's mom, 61, quipped. "I'm not responsible. I'm really just a loose cannon."

Then, more seriously, she continued: "Anyway, I want to apologize to Jenny [McCarthy] , Sherri [Shepherd] , and Whoopi [Goldberg] , who are all accomplished, self-made women who have amazing careers. They have achieved so much. I mean, Whoopi is an Oscar winner. Who am I to say anything about Whoopi [or] any of the ladies?"

"I respect Jenny as a mother, as a woman, as an artist. Sherri, too," the X Factor alum added. "And, really, I can't even get the name of my own show right. So please understand, it was my irreverent behavior, and no disrespect [was] meant. And I'm not a person who is mean, I'm really not. And I apologize."

The drama started earlier this week when Osbourne and her Talk co-hosts -- Gilbert, Sheryl Underwood, Aisha Tyler, and Julie Chen -- were asked by Arsenio Hall about the difference between their show and ABC's The View. Chen attempted to offer an explanation about the types of topics each cast covers, but Osbourne cut her off.

"Cut to the chase! Stop being polite. Cut to the f--king chase!" she exclaimed. "This is the situation. The situation is Barbara [Walters] -- idolize her. Divine. She's superhuman. I love Barbara Walters. The rest can go f--k themselves."
